What to Expect

The Pre-Dawn Pickup

Your adventure begins with an early-morning pickup from your hotel in Marrakech, typically between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM depending on the season. You will be driven to the launch site in the peaceful countryside just outside the city.

The Preparation & Inflation

At the launch site, watch the crew prepare and inflate the massive balloon while enjoying warm mint tea, coffee, and biscuits. It is an exciting process to witness as the hot air fills the canopy and the balloon stands upright.

The Flight

Step into the basket and gently lift off into the morning sky. As the wind carries you, you will rise to altitudes of up to 1,000 meters. The peaceful silence of the flight is broken only by the occasional roar of the balloon's burner. You will watch the sun cast its first golden rays over the rugged Atlas peaks and illuminate the red plains of Marrakech below.

Berber Breakfast & Celebration

After a smooth landing, you will head to a traditional nomad tent where local Berber hosts will serve a delicious breakfast of fresh Moroccan bread (Msemmen), olive oil, honey, cheese, and fresh mint tea.

What to Wear & Bring

  • Warm layers: Temperatures can be quite chilly in the early morning before sunrise and at high altitudes, so a jacket or sweater is highly recommended.
  • Comfortable flat shoes: You will be standing in the balloon basket for about an hour and walking on uneven ground at the launch and landing sites.
  • Sun protection: Even in the morning, sunglasses and sunscreen are useful as the sun rises.
  • Camera or smartphone: Essential for capturing the spectacular aerial views. Keep a strap attached to prevent accidental drops!
