What to Expect

Historical Landmarks

Your tour starts with a visit to the external gardens of the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech and an icon of Almohad architecture. Next, explore the ornate rooms and lush courtyards of the 19th-century Bahia Palace, a masterpiece of Moroccan-Islamic architecture. Continue to the Saadian Tombs, a beautifully restored royal burial ground dating back to the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur.

The Maze of the Souks

From the monuments, dive into the bustling heart of the souks. Your guide will steer you through the labyrinth of specialized markets, including the spice market (Rahba Kedima), the slipper market (Souk Smarine), and the metalwork quarter. Watch skilled artisans hammering brass lanterns, dyeing wool, and sewing leather slippers. Learn the art of friendly bargaining and discover how to find genuine, high-quality Moroccan crafts.

Jemaa el-Fnaa Square

Conclude your tour at the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa, the pulse of the city. By day, the square is filled with fruit juice stalls, henna artists, snake charmers, and musicians. Your guide will explain the history of this cultural space, which is protected by UNESCO for its oral heritage, and recommend the best spots to grab a mint tea and watch the sunset.

What to Wear & Bring
